Brown Sugar Cookies

These are so yummy and super super soft. Plus, the brown butter frosting that goes on top makes them even better! Just a heads up on these ... When they are cooked, they will "uncooked" and that is normal. I made these for a friend the other day, but instead of using the browned butter frosting, I used a store bought vanilla {They weren't as yummy.  Still good, but not the same}

Brown Sugar Cookies
2/3 cup butter ~ softened
1 1/2 cups brown sugar ~ packed
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour cream

Blend butter and brown sugar together.  Slowly add in eggs one at a time, blend well.  Add in vanilla.  in separate bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.  Add some of flour mixture to butter mixture, alternating with sour cream and mix well.  Once all flour and sour cream is added to sugar mixture, drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto a non-stick or lightly greased baking sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for 9-10 minutes.  Remove from sheet to wire rack and cool completely and then frost.

Brown Butter Frosting
1/4 cup butter
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk {more if needed}

Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat until it turns golden.  Watch carefully because it happens pretty quick.  Remove from heat and stir in powdered sugar.  Add enough milk, SLOWLY, to make frosting a spreading consistency.
